Hoegemeyer Homecoming Field Day
Farmers HoegemeyerWe want to thank all of you who made Hoegemeyer Homecoming such a success this year. We hope you received valuable information and enjoyed your day. The Hoegemeyer employees enjoyed the fellowship and conversation we had with our customers and dealers.
Mark Pearson gave a global view of agriculture and what that means to the farmer. Since everyone enjoyed him, we have booked him for Hoegemeyer Homecoming next year.
Dr. Tamra Jackson talked about corn nematodes and how this pest can affect your corn yields. Dr. Tom Hoegemeyer discussed the outlook of the seed industry, David Hingst looked at soybean technologies, and Ryan Siefken reviewed new corn technologies that are going to be available. Mark your calendar for next year’s Homecoming Field Day on August 9, 2012.
Optimum® AcreMax® and Optimum®
AcreMax® Xtra Approved
Late last month, Optimum® AcreMax® and Optimum® AcreMax® Xtra insect protection were have been approved as single-bag integrated refuge products.
This marks the first U.S. approval of a single-bag, integrated refuge product that targets above-ground insects (Optimum AcreMax insect protection). The approvals also expand our line-up of integrated refuge offerings giving growers the widest selection of simplified refuge products in the industry.
Optimum AcreMax, available in the HPT® brand, offers growers a single-bag refuge option in areas only needing above-ground insect protection. Optimum AcreMax products contain the following in a single bag:
  • Hybrid with a pyramid of two trusted and highly-effective modes of action - Herculex® I Insect Protection (Hx), and the YieldGard® Corn Borer (YGCB) trait.
  • In-the-bag refuge of a similar hybrid with only herbicide tolerance (Roundup Ready® Corn 2), which satisfies all above-ground refuge requirements.
Benefits of Optimum AcreMax and Optimum AcreMax
Xtra Insect Protection

Ultimate Simplicity
  • Satisfy all of your refuge requirements with every bag you plant.
Maximized Farm Yields
  • Protect former refuge acres with trusted traits offering broad spectrum insect protection.
  • On-farm trials show Optimum AcreMax and Optimum AcreMax Xtra products yield equivalent to pure stands of products with Herculex I or Herculex XTRA insect protection, respectively. This provides growers opportunities to maximize their overall farm yields by turning former refuge acres into performance acres.
Technology Preservation
  • Reduce the risk of insect resistance and extend the longevity of in-plant insect protection.
